6. International Data Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is located in Germany (EU). Where your data is transferred outside the UK or EU, we rely on the following safeguards:

  • UK to EU: Covered by the EU Adequacy Decision for the United Kingdom.
  • EU/UK to US: Covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF) for certified providers (Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, Amazon).
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): Used where DPF certification is not available or as an additional safeguard.

You may request a copy of the relevant transfer safeguards by contacting [email protected].

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law.

8. Immutable Version Control Data

This data is processed under Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for the following purposes:

  • Software supply chain security - verifying the provenance of packages
  • Audit trail integrity - maintaining an accurate record of who authored code
  • Reproducible builds - ensuring packages can be rebuilt and verified
  • Cryptographic hash verification - deletion would change package checksums and break integrity guarantees

Deletion of this data would compromise the security guarantees we provide to all users of the registry. This approach is consistent with industry practice established by GitHub, GitLab, npm, and Packagist, all of which retain commit metadata indefinitely.

If you request deletion of your account, we will:
  • Delete your account data, credentials, and session information
  • Anonymise your data in usage and download logs
  • Retain package metadata where it forms part of published packages, under legitimate interest as described above

We have conducted a Legitimate Interest Assessment (LIA) for this processing. You may request a copy of this assessment by contacting [email protected].
